I could not read beyond 12% of this book. This is the second book for which I have given only one star. If you like reading about a young woman who, in her relationship with her boyfriend, had (with him) discussed how many children they would like to have, etc., etc., and then shed no tears when he dumped her one month later for her best friend, then this book is for you. The “best friend” never apologized, and the boyfriend became nasty, showing no remorse whatsoever. Shallow characters. I give it a one star review for the charming cover.
Definitely a heartwarming feel good cozy novel set in beautiful Switzerland. Since I visited Switzerland in 2007, I am familiar with delightful described landscape, tourist destinations and cuisine. Reading this book during the pandemic so it is nice to be a safe arm chair traveler and revisit Zurich and other Swiss cities. Nice to have a recipe for Basler Kirschenbrottorte included. Enjoy the travel aspect of this series. A new author. Books are well crafted and edited.Reason for four stars may be personal: My attention span is short, so rather lengthly book with three parts and 26 chapters. Some descriptive passages are lengthy and maybe a little repetitive. But as stated due to outside circumstances pandemic, snowy cold winter, this avid reader isn't concentrating well.
